Engineering Services — For Partner Organisations

Technology Projects

Contract engineering for organisations, institutions and enterprises — with ALU as an engineering partner that takes responsibility for how the system works, not just whether it ships.

01Capabilities

Sixteen engineering capabilities.

Applied in combination, depending on what the problem actually requires. We would rather recommend less technology done well than more done loosely.

  1. 01

    Enterprise software engineering

Business-critical systems designed for longevity, auditability and change.

  2. 02

    System integration

Making existing systems work together without fragile point-to-point glue.

  3. 03

    API integration

Designing, versioning and consuming APIs with explicit, tested contracts.

  4. 04

    Event-driven architecture

Messaging and streaming designs that decouple systems and absorb load.

  5. 05

    Data engineering

Pipelines, models and storage that make data trustworthy and usable.

  6. 06

    AI / machine learning

Applied models with clear evaluation, deployment and monitoring.

  7. 07

    Natural language processing

Text understanding, extraction and translation — including Arabic.

  8. 08

    Search & knowledge systems

Retrieval, indexing and knowledge structures people can actually query.

  9. 09

    High-throughput systems

Services engineered to handle volume predictably under sustained load.

  10. 10

    Backend engineering

Robust services, data access layers and business logic at the core.

  11. 11

    Infrastructure engineering

Reproducible environments, networking and platform foundations.

  12. 12

    Monitoring & observability

Metrics, logs, traces and alerts that show what production is doing.

  13. 13

    Technology consulting

Architecture reviews and technical direction grounded in practice.

  14. 14

    Custom software development

Purpose-built software where off-the-shelf does not fit.

  15. 15

    System deployment

Repeatable, low-risk release processes into the target environment.

  16. 16

    Performance & reliability engineering

Profiling, capacity planning and resilience under failure.

02Methodology

Discover → Architect → Build → Integrate → Deploy → Operate.

Every engagement follows the same six stages. Scope changes; discipline does not.

  1. Discover

Understand the organisation, its constraints, the systems already in place, and what success has to look like.

  2. Architect

Define boundaries, data flows, integration contracts and failure modes before any production code is written.

  3. Build

Implement in small, reviewed and tested increments against the agreed architecture.

  4. Integrate

Connect to existing systems, APIs and data sources, and verify every contract end to end.

  5. Deploy

Release through repeatable, observable pipelines into the target infrastructure.

  6. Operate

Monitor, maintain and improve. We stay accountable for the system after it goes live.

Who we work with

Organisations where systems carry real consequence.

  • Enterprises modernising or integrating core systems
  • Institutions — educational, religious, civic — digitising knowledge and services
  • Public-sector and regulated organisations with reliability and audit needs
  • Teams that need a senior engineering partner alongside their own staff
  • Organisations with large text, document or data collections to make usable

What “engineering partner” means

Responsibility for the outcome, not just the output.

  • We question requirements when they would lead to a fragile system
  • Architecture is agreed and documented before implementation begins
  • Integration and failure behaviour are tested, not assumed
  • Knowledge is transferred; you are never locked in to us by obscurity
  • We can stay on to operate what we build, under clear terms

Planning a system that has to work?

Share the context — the problem, the existing landscape, the constraints. We will respond with questions an engineer would ask.
